Found - Our featured property is located
at the South East end of Bastimentos island,
a mere 30 minute boat ride away from Bocas
Town through some of the most beautiful mangrove
islands in the world. As such, "Rancho Paradisio" is
a perfect getaway property. The rancho is perched over
the clear water of the Caribbean just off a beautiful white sand
beach and a
tropical jungle teeming with wildlife. The views from this
property are incredible. Down the beach to the East waves crash
on the reef at "Old
Point" and just to the South lie the majestic Zapatilla Keys,
part of the National Marine Sanctuary. Further to the Southeast
and viewed
over an expanse of blue green water are the mountains of the Bluefields
region of the mainland. Still further to the South are Cayo Agua,
known as the water island and the reef rimmed Isla Popa. It is
truly an idyllic setting.
The rancho has been hand crafted out of the finest
local hardwoods and native materials. Hand
made Bahama style shutters and
doors open to the sea breezes and an intricately designed palm thatched
roof sets a tone of relaxation. "Rancho Paradisio" is
fully equipped with everything you will need to make your stay with us
the most memorable one ever. You may prepare your own meals in the
kitchen or we can make arrangements to have your meals catered or even
prepared tableside by
one of the local Guyami Indian women. These incredible
women bake fresh breads daily and also harvest tropical fruits and
incredible root vegetables while the men locate fresh poultry, fish or
lobster as desired by you.
With relaxation of prime importance we
recommend swimming in the warm waters of the Caribbean, lounging in
a hammock or taking long
walks along the majestic beaches. We also provide two native kayukas
for your use. You may take these for a paddle to the nearby reefs
for snorkeling or up Salt Creek where you will find the local Indian
village. The
Indians will welcome you with open arms and you will have ample
opportunity to experience their culture. If socialization is called
for take a short walk down the beach to one of the eco-resorts
where you will most likely find a bottle of rum or a bottle of wine
and a few kindred souls willing to share their thoughts on life and
love. Dining
out is also available by reservation - we can arrange for your
transportation to Crawl Key or any of the other nearby restaurants. If
you wish, we can even schedule day or night trips into Bocas Town where
you will find a plethora of shopping, dining and drinking opportunities.
