Once a week, we host a community potluck dinner and acoustic jam session which is a popular hangout for locals and backpackers alike. Because sound travels easily through the hostel walls, the bar area closes at 10 pm out of respect for the hostel guests. You may read past reviews talking about the loud bar and live music--we made the decision to downsize the bar and cut out the rowdy night time scene because it was at times difficult for guests to sleep and we would rather be known as a good place to rest and relax than a party hostel. After 10 pm outside guests are prohibited and we request that Casa Verde guests respect nighttime quiet hours. For the peace and safety of our guests and their belongings, Casa Verde has security cameras as well as a night time security guard.
