Driftwood Beach is a beautiful stretch of beachfront property so named because of the significant amounts of driftwood that wash ashore there. Offshore currents and the location of the property at the southernmost tip of Cayo Agua contribute to this phenomenon. It is truly a driftwood collectors dream come true. The property fronts on the crystal clear waters of Laguna de Chiriqui and offers spectacular views of the mountains that make up the Central Cordillera of Panama. To the rear of the property you will find several creeks and a dense tropical jungle where large numbers of parrots and other native birds make their home. The property is in pristine condition and well suited for buy and hold investment strategies as well as for building an island getaway or an eco-resort. We are offering approximately one acre parcels of this magnificent property at $29,900 with 100 feet of beach frontage. There is over a 600 feet of beachfront available so you can tailor your purchase to meet your needs. Discounts on multiple lot buys. All rights of possession land will be manditorily Titled within the next three years. The cost will be $50. More on Cayo de Agua from www.bocas.com The village of Water Cay (Cayo Agua) is probably one of most colorful of the Archipelago, with most of its houses built with wood, over the sea, seated on columns also of wood. Their main inhabitants's activities are fishing and the extraction of lobsters and crabs, with a small components of agriculture and cattle. The community has a primary school, public telephone and electricity from a generator, but it depends on the wells and rain water to satisfy his necessities of the vital liquid. A very rewarding activity, for visitants, is to walk by a pleasant trail that, starting on the community in direction the northwest, bring the visitor along the coast of the island allowing to appreciate the great landscaping beauty of the place. Other options are to contract a local guide who takes it to the interior of the rainforest, very well conserved, or makes snorkel in the neighboring coral reefs to the community, in the channel between Cayo Agua and Popa islands. Another attraction, specially for interested in geology and paleontology, are the ancient deposits of coral and clams that are in the east sector of the island, more exactly in the beach of Punta Limon, with formation of more than 3 million years that are in a vein form throughout the cliff that precedes to the beach, and into rocks in the same beach. Thank you for taking an interest in our Panamanian properties. First, let me tell you where we are located in the Republic of Panama. Our properties are in the islands of the Bocas del Toro Province, which is on the Caribbean Sea near the Costa Rican border. For more details on Panama, Bocas del Toro, and our properties for sale please visit our website at www.bocasparadise.com The mainland is only twenty minutes away by either water taxi ($5.00 round trip) or by private boat from the town of Bocas. To actually get to the islands is a 2-1/2-hour flight from Miami, Florida to Panama City, Panama. Then a short 45-minute flight to the islands of Bocas. We can arrange to have an English-speaking driver meet interested parties at the airport in Panama City. He is a retired American. Remember, retirement is based on income here and not on age. If you wish, he can then take you to one of several very nice hotels in the heart of the city, with which we have established special rates. If you wish additional information on the two hotels please let me know. You can also arrange special tours to different regions of Panama with the driver. Part of our mission here in Panama was to relocate to a tropical paradise ourselves and to provide this option for others. My partner and I are marine biologists and are very interested in preserving the incredible tropical environment here. All of our sites and building projects here keep that ideal in the forefront. We can make it painless for you to relocate and build here, because we have lived here for some time and have removed all the small delays and headaches that confront new landowners and builders who construct in another country. Additionally, we can provide you with complete home plans and excellent contacts for your electrical, septic, and water systems needs (we currently have a home on one of the sites ourselves). You can even build your own home here (please contact us for the details). Landscaping is no problem. Tropical flowers and fruit trees grow here in abundance and are inexpensive to purchase for transplant. We even have some cacao (chocolate) trees growing on some sites. The properties we currently have for sale on our website are only accessible by boat and are; “The Villas at Playa del Paradisio”, “Vista Tranquilo” and “Driftwood Beach” (please see our website). I can provide you with additional photographs of these properties if needed. Playa del Paradisio is a community with covenants, comprised of beachfront and lake view lots called the Villas at Playa del Paradisio. It is located on one of the most beautiful beaches in Bocas. The Villas provide each owner with a boat slip (the concrete dock is complete), common grounds maintenance, security, and excellent leasing options. The covenants are simple (they can be downloaded from our website) and are intended to provide a way to maintain the paradise you have discovered in Bocas. There are only eight lots within the Villas (four beachfront and four lake view). Each lot is 50 feet x 100 feet. There are two beachfront lots currently left for sale at $59,900. All of our other beachfront and lake view lots at this location have sold and are no longer available. Wireless Broadband Internet Connectivity is also available at this site. The Villas at Playa del Paradisio is located on the leeward side (protected docking waters) of Isla Bastimentos, and has some of the best beaches and views in the region. These beaches are the number one choice for the European version of the television show “Survivor” each year. The Russian “Survivor” team was recently filming in the immediate area. One-half of the island and a large portion of the coral reefs in the area are within the Bastimentos National Park and Marine Preserve. Additionally, indigenous Ngobe Indians live in the interior of the island. We are presently working on a large joint reforestation project with the Isla Bastimentos Ngobe and have been asked to act as their representative to new landowning Gringos. Land wildlife in the area includes: parrots, toucans, monkeys, anteaters, and sloths. The surrounding ocean has numerous coral reefs for snorkeling and diving. The twin national park islands of the Zapatillas lay just off our coast and make one think of “Gilligan’s Island” times two. There were numerous beachfront properties available on Isla Bastimentos just six months ago, but advertisement during the Miss Universe Pageant, in travel magazines, USA Today, and the Wallsteet Journal has reduced that number to just a few remaining pieces of available beachfront. In addition to the Villas, we have the Vista Tranquilo properties and the Driftwood Beach properties. The mainland town of Chiriqui Grande is only 20-25 minutes away by boat from these properties and has excellent local shopping, including hardware and grocery stores. The main highway from David (Panama’s second largest city) connects to Chiriqui Grande and supplies can be easily shipped there. Vista Tranquilo includes 800 feet of beachfront located on the leeward side of the island of Cayo de Aqua, “The Water Island”. Driftwood Beach includes 1,000 feet of beach on the same island. We presently have three one-acre lots for sale at Vista Tranquilo and ten one-acre lots for sale at Driftwood Beach for $29,900 each. However, we would also consider selling portions, or all, of the property to suit your needs. As presented, each lot has 100 feet of beachfront and is approximately 436 feet deep. We have reasonably cleared the front 150 feet of the lot; the rest is still native rain forest. We own several acres of rain forest behind the beach lots, which we plan to maintain as a preserve. The ocean waters are clear and calm (tranquilo in Spanish) on Cayo de Aqua. The lots view the beautiful, cloud shrouded mountains of the mainland, just across the way. The beachfront is maintained and supports a large variety of fruit trees and coconut palms. The sands of Cayo de Aqua are light gray in color. The island as with most of the Bocas area, is very laid back and quiet. No Gringos currently live on this island and there is very little motorized boat traffic, but there are plenty of canoes. It is a wonderful place to just escape from it all. We can also provide home leasing, construction, and property maintenance services, should you desire them. Finally, we also have over thirty new properties which are not presently listed on our current website. These include small private islands and lots at “World Famous” Bluff Beach on Isla Colon. Please see the attached photo. We have a new website which will go online September 1st and which contains all our new listings. It will be accessed using the same web address as our current site. New listings include several small private islands. One listing includes two islands for sale (which are within two minutes of each other) one is 1/4 acre and the other is 1/2 acre. The owner is asking $40,000 for the two islands (and there is room for price negotiation). We also have a property with a new 1,500 sq.ft. house, which is located one hundred feet above its own deep-water bay. The house also has 1,500 sq.ft. of decking and a very nice dock and boathouse. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with hundreds of fruit trees and flowers. Please see the photo shot from the front deck. Additionally, since we live in Bocas we review any new properties for sale in the area, weekly. If you are searching for a specific type of property – island, mountain, riverfront, large farm, jungle, house, road access, condo, or commercial – please let us know and we may be able to locate, or we may currently already have, exactly what you are seeking. There are numerous hotels in the main town and surrounding islands of Bocas del Toro (visit www.bocas.com for more hotel info.). We would be happy to assist you with a selection based on your individual requirements. We look forward to hearing from you!
